THE PREPARATION OF OUR “ANIMARENA” RATAFIA STARTS FROM OUR BLACK CHERRIES, SMALL ONES, FRESH ONES AND DARK ONES: WE DO NOT USE ANY SYRUP AND WE DO NOT USE ANY NATURAL AROMA.

Our best achievements:
Our Genziana 40 giorni obtained the bronze medal at the “Craft Spirits Festival Destille Berlin 2019”, in the category “herbal spirits”; After that the Touring club guide, the most important Italian guide for wines and spirits, inserted our Liquorificio among the best 50 italian producers. And 4 of our products are in the “Spirito autoctono 2021” (Native spirit 2021) guide; And finally our Animarena won the Silver Medal at the “Craft Spirits Festival Destille Berlin 2021”, in the category “liqueur”.

THE GENZIANA LIQUORS
GENZIANA 40 GIORNI
Gentian roots and Pecorino
Bitter liquor, definitely amaro, it is the result of more than 40 days (40 giorni) of gentian roots within pecorino white wine maceration but only after this period we add little cane sugar and alcohol.
Color: amber yellow with golden nuances.
Bouquet: intense and complex, the typical notes of pecorino white wine, follow the spicy notes of the gentian roots.
Taste: intense and persistent, nicely fresh, definitely bitter.

GENZIANA 40 NOTTI
Red wine and honey
Bitter liquor, definitely amaro, it is the result of a more than 40 nights (40 notti) of gentian roots within Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC red wine maceration but only after this period we add honey and alcohol. No sugar added.
Color: ruby-red color with an amber reflex.
Bouquet: complex, the typical notes of Montepulciano red wine, as red fruits, follow the spicy notes of the gentian roots into honey.
Taste: edgy, soft at the end, definitely bitter.

GENZIANA N. 20
The traditional Genziana, light, with ABV 20%
Bitter liquor, it is the result of gentian roots within Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC white wine.
Color: amber yellow with golden nuances.
Bouquet: intense and complex, the typical notes of Trebbiano white wine, apple and pear overall, follow the nice spicy notes of the gentian roots.
Taste: intense and persistent, nicely fresh, definitely bitter.

GENZIANOTTO
Gentian roots and cooked grape must
GENZIANOTTO is our first spirit crafted in our L·AB, it’s the result of a long research on the armony of the opposites. Nice bitterness given by gentian roots, balanced by the sweetness of “mosto cotto”, cooked grape must.
Color: amber brown with golden nuances.
Bouquet: intense and complex, typical notes of cooked grape jam, together with nice spicy notes of gentian roots.
Taste: Bitter sweet well balanced. No sugar added, the sweetness derives only from the natural sweetness of grapes.

GENZIANERA
Bitter licorice
GENZIANERA has been developed in our L·AB with the goal to create a licorice liquor with a bitter aftertaste. GENZIANERA is the result of an alcohol infusion of gentian and licorice roots.
Color: black, dark brown.
Bouquet: intense, complex, with spicy notes of gentian roots, while the presence of licorice is unmistakable.
Taste: The bitterness of the gentian roots wraps the full bodied taste of licorice.

ANIMARENA
Oak aged Ratafia
The word “amarena” means “sour cherry”, the word “anima” stands for “soul”, ANIMARENA is our soul cherry liqueur: the black sour cherries left into red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wine for a long maceration, the fruit is kept raw, not cooked, in order to get a nice taste of fresh sour cherries. We add just little sugar, in order to better age ANIMARENA into oak barrels. Full body of sour cherry, sour aftertaste, persistent. Gently sweet.
Color: ruby red with violet nuances.
Bouquet: The notes of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo red wine support a unique perfume of fresh fruit.

TRADITIONAL RATAFIA
The sweet Ratafia
A sweet liqueur with a taste full of sour cherries and good acidity. A bitter and persistent aftertaste, it has an enjoyable harshness.
Color: ruby red with violet nuances.
Bouquet: The notes of the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo red wine support a unique perfume of sour cherry.
Taste: sweet, full and fresh aftertaste of sour cherries

RATAFRAGOLA
Strawberries Ratafia
RATAFRAGOLA is the result of research and development applied to red strawberries. The fruit is kept raw, the strawberries are not cooked, the result is a unique flavor and taste of fresh strawberries. Sweet liqueur, RATAFRAGOLA is the result of a short maceration of strawberries into rosè wine and alcohol.
Color: coral pink
Bouquet: intense and complex, unmistakable flavor of fresh strawberry, with floral notes of rosè wine.
Taste: very sweet, nice freshness and acidity. Full taste of fresh fruit. Persistent.

RATAPESCA
Ratafia of Cerasuolo rosè wine and peaches
Ratapesca is the final result of research and development applied to yellow and red peaches. Sweet liqueur, Ratapesca is the result of a short maceration of peaches into Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC rosè wine.
Color: pink peach
Bouquet: intense and unmistakable flavor of fresh peaches, with floral notes of white flowers.
Taste: intense, persistent, nice freshness and acidity. Full taste of peaches.

CACTUS
The Prickly Pear Ratafia and Cerasuolo wine
CACTUS is the result of the maceration of red, sweet and perfumed Prickly Pears. Prickly Pear (from latin “opuntia ficus indica”) is a flavorful plant from the cactaceae family. CACTUS is a sweet liqueur, obtained from the maceration of that prickly pear within the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC rosè wine.
Color: violet-red.
Bouquet: intense, scent of Prickly pear, with floral notes of Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo wine.
Taste: intense, persistent perfume of prickly pear.

OUR EXPERIMENTS WITH LIQUORS
GIN ZIANA
Dry Gin
GIN ZIANA, DRY GIN has been developed in our L·AB with the goal to create a GIN with a local attitude, gently and bitter, “amaro e gentile”, like Abruzzo: an intense perfume of juniper berries, followed by spicy notes of saffron, with a light bitter gentian aftertaste, finally, herbaceous botanical of sour cherry leaves. 4 botanicals, the most representative of our region.
Color: Golden yellow given by saffron in cold compound.
Bouquet: intense of juniper berries.
Taste: intense and persistent, light bitter, well balanced by saffron and little bit of sugar.

FEUDO 77 VERMOUTH
Our reinterpretation of the Vermouth Liquor
Our Feudo 77 Vermouth, it’s called like that because of the place where our LAB started: Contrada FEUDO, n.6, in Ripa Teatina (Chieti, Italy).
It’s a mix of different spices (like Juniper, Genepì, saffron and Gentian roots) with Pecorino IGT white wine. An innovative recipe linked with the liquor tradition of Abruzzo.
It has various and strong scents, both spicy and fruity, intense.
The result is a bitter, full and sharp taste, a unique product where the creativity, the innovation and the tradition of our Liquoreria ABruzzese are well mixed.
